Commemorates May 14, 2026, as the 190th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Velasco, which ended the Texas Revolution in 1836

The treaties were signed by Texas Ad Interim President David G. Burnet and Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna following Mexico's defeat at the Battle of San Jacinto

The public treaty contained 10 articles requiring cessation of hostilities, Mexican troop withdrawal beyond the Rio Grande, prisoner exchanges, and General Santa Anna's return to Mexico

The private treaty contained 6 articles promising Santa Anna's release in exchange for his efforts to secure Mexico's acknowledgment of Texas independence and establish the Rio Grande as the boundary

Both governments violated the treaties, and Mexico did not officially recognize Texas independence until the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848
