Designates Denton as the official Halloween Capital of Texas, replacing its previous designation as the Redbud Capital of Texas

Recognition based on the city's "31 Days of Denton Halloween" event, a month-long celebration featuring activities at over a dozen themed locations in historic downtown

The inaugural 2024 festival attracted more than 660,000 attendees with events including Halloween movie nights, pumpkin carving contests, block parties, scavenger hunts, and interactive storytelling

Designation remains in effect for 10 years from the date of passage, per Government Code Section 391.003(e)

Adopted by the House on May 7, 2025 (115-21 vote) and by the Senate on May 14, 2025 (31-0 vote)
