Proposes a constitutional amendment to Article VIII of the Texas Constitution prohibiting the legislature from imposing state taxes on food, drinks, medicine, and child-care services that were tax-exempt under Chapter 151, Tax Code, as of January 1, 2025

Adds a temporary provision stating that if the 89th Legislature enacts any law violating this prohibition during its regular or special session, the offending portion of that law would expire on January 1, 2027

The temporary provision itself would expire on December 31, 2027

Requires the proposed amendment to be submitted to Texas voters at an election on November 4, 2025

Ballot language would ask voters to approve or reject "prohibiting the taxation of the sale or use of certain food, drinks, medicine, and child-care services"
