Judge Burch graduated from Ellison High School in 1994, earned a bachelor's degree with honors from Texas Tech University in 1998, and a law degree with honors from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2001

Her legal career includes positions as an associate at Gardere Wynne Sewell in Dallas, assistant attorney general, special assistant U.S. attorney with the Texas Attorney General's Office, and assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas starting in 2008

She was sworn in as U.S. magistrate judge for the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas, Lubbock Division on August 1, 2024
