Texas House of Representatives commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Community Council of South Central Texas (CCSCT), celebrated at the Hope in Action Community Luncheon in Seguin on May 15, 2025

CCSCT was established on May 11, 1965, as the Community Council of Comal County and adopted its current name in 1971 to reflect its expanded service area covering 31 counties in South Central and West Texas

The organization administers the WIC nutrition program and Head Start school readiness program, and provides assistance with housing, utilities, home weatherization, and computer technology access

CCSCT operates a Veterans Financial Assistance Program to support former service members and their families

Resolution adopted by non-record vote on May 23, 2025, directing an official copy be prepared for the organization
