Alamo Colleges District in San Antonio received the 2024 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation's highest recognition for organizational performance excellence, making it the only educational institution in the country to earn the distinction that year

The district previously won the same award in 2018 and is one of the largest community college systems in the nation, employing nearly 5,600 people and serving over 100,000 students across five campuses

Founded in 1945, the district includes Northeast Lakeview College, Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, St. Philip's College, and San Antonio College, led by Chancellor Dr. Mike Flores

Programs such as AlamoPROMISE (covering tuition and book costs beyond financial aid) and AlamoADVISE (personalized advising for nontraditional and disadvantaged students) have contributed to high course completion rates and increased satisfaction

The Texas House of Representatives congratulates the district and directs that an official copy of the resolution be prepared as an expression of high regard
