Roy Dale Cooper of Decatur, Texas, a professional rodeo cowboy known as "Super Looper," passed away on April 29, 2025, at age 69

Won six World Champion Calf Roping titles (1976, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, and 1984) and made history in 1983 by claiming three major titles in one year: World Champion Steer Roper, Calf Roping Champion, and PRCA All-Around title

Career included 18 National Finals Rodeo calf roping qualifications and 13 steer roping finals appearances, earning induction into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame

Survived by wife Shari, sons Clint, Clif, and Tuf (all of whom qualified for the National Finals Rodeo in the same year), stepdaughter Shada, and grandchildren

Resolution unanimously adopted by rising vote on May 23, 2025, with the Texas House adjourning in his memory
