Commemorates the 270th anniversary of the City of Laredo's founding on May 15, 2025

Laredo was established in 1755 by Tomás Sánchez de la Barrera y Garza, served as capital of the Republic of the Rio Grande in 1840, and became part of Texas in 1846

The city developed as an international trade hub with the railroad's arrival in the 1880s, supported by coal mining, onion farming, and oil and gas discovery in the early 20th century

Laredo currently has a population of more than 255,000, with leading industries including transportation and warehousing, retail trade, and educational services
