Kyle Taylor of the Kyle Fire Department was named 2024 Fire Chief of the Year by the Texas Fire Chiefs Association, a peer-nominated honor presented at the group's annual conference

Chief Taylor has served in the fire service for more than 20 years and has led the Kyle Fire Department since 2013

Prior to Kyle, he served as battalion chief for North Hays County Fire/Rescue ESD #6 in Dripping Springs and began his career as a volunteer firefighter with Red Oak Fire Rescue in Ellis County

Chief Taylor holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Texas, a master's in public administration with emphasis in emergency management from Sam Houston State University, and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program
