Texas House of Representatives commemorates the grand opening of the Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC) in El Paso in March 2025

The $15 million, 41,000-square-foot facility was funded by a 2012 quality of life bond program and is operated by the city's Museum and Cultural Affairs Department

Located in the Downtown Arts District adjacent to Cleveland Square Park and El Paso Museum of History, the center shares an auditorium with the Main Library

Facility includes the Black Box Theatre, two art galleries, dance studio, artist-in-residence studio, crafts studio, cooking classroom with full kitchen, recording studio for oral histories, and rooftop terrace event space

The center is dedicated to preserving the stories and traditions of Indigenous peoples of the region, including Lipan Apache, Mescalero Apache, Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, and other tribes from Texas and northern Mexico
