Commends Lucious Williams of DeSoto, Texas for his distinguished service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War

Williams was drafted in 1952 at age 20, served 18 months with the 58th Field Artillery Battalion, attained the rank of corporal, and participated in the Battle of Kumsong before the 1953 armistice

Williams received multiple decorations including the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal Korea

Following his 1954 honorable discharge, Williams served with the Cook County Sheriff's Department in Illinois and founded Dikita Enterprises, considered the oldest African American-owned engineering and consulting company in North Texas

Resolution adopted by the Texas House of Representatives on May 21, 2025, by non-record vote, with an official copy to be presented to Mr. Williams
