Texas House Resolution paying tribute to Maria Teresa Flores Cavazos of Monterrey, Mexico, who passed away on May 9, 2025, at age 83

Born in Laredo on March 14, 1942, she was the first college graduate in her family, earning a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Incarnate Word College

Taught math and science at Ursuline Academy, Laredo Junior College, and Laredo Martin High School before moving to Monterrey, Mexico

Helped establish Nuestra Señora Reina de Los Angeles church and served as a Eucharistic minister and lector; was a member of the Apostleship of the Cross and Alliance of Love

Resolution extends condolences to her husband Jesus Guadalupe Cavazos Fernandez, four children, four grandchildren, and siblings including State Representative Maria Luisa "Lulu" Flores; adopted unanimously by rising vote on June 1, 2025
