The San Angelo plant produces sutures for nearly 3 out of 7 surgeries worldwide and manages one-third of Ethicon's global Wound Closure and Healing surgery volume

Originally founded as Johnson Suture Company in 1921, the company's products were used in more than 7,500 hospitals by 1980

Adopted by the Texas House of Representatives on June 1, 2025, by a non-record vote
