Pays tribute to retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major Jesus San Nicolas "Jesse" Chargualaf, who passed away on July 15, 2024, at age 81

Honors his 30-year military career that began in 1962 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, including service in the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) as a Green Beret and intelligence operations in nearly 20 countries

Recognizes his service during the Vietnam War as a primary contact between villagers and U.S. forces, as well as his volunteer work mentoring youth while stationed in Massachusetts

Notes his post-military career of 31 years as property manager for Cat Mountain Villas in Austin, Texas

Extends sympathy to his surviving family members, including wife Gay, children Nicole and Jay, and grandchildren Elizabeth and James, and directs the Texas House to adjourn in his memory
