OutYouth, an Austin nonprofit supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2025 after being founded in April 1990 by Lisa Rogers and Jay Erwin-Grotsky

The organization has served more than 40,000 young people and their families, operating from the "Little Blue Bungalow" in North Central Austin since the end of its first decade

OutYouth established the nation's first toll-free suicide hotline for LGBTQIA+ youth and operates the Jerry Strickland Jr. Memorial Library, one of the largest privately managed collections of its kind in Texas

Programs include mental health counseling services (since 2001), family therapy, support groups, the Be YOU curriculum, the Texas Gender & Sexuality Alliance Network (since 2005), and a Media Arts Program (launched 2024)

The Texas House of Representatives commemorates the 35th anniversary and extends best wishes to those affiliated with the organization
