Alan George Moravcik of Midland passed away on August 20, 2024, at age 77; he was born December 12, 1946, in Hays, Kansas

Graduated from Permian High School and attended The University of Texas at Austin on an athletic scholarship, playing football and baseball, then earned his juris doctor degree from UT in 1972

Practiced family law for nearly four decades, founding his own practice and later forming the firm Moravcik, Threadgill & Starry; frequently took pro bono cases and worked to protect children in need

Married Cathie Rae in 1991 and is survived by his wife, three children (Blake, Jake, and Maddie), three grandchildren (Taylor, Maci, and Alex), and brother Jack

The Texas House of Representatives unanimously adopted this resolution on June 1, 2025, adjourning in his memory
