Williamson County Emergency Medical Services (WCEMS) is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, having been established in 1975 with 16 employees and 4 ambulances

WCEMS has grown to 177 staff members and 25 emergency response vehicles, currently led by Director John Gonzales

The agency has received annual recognition from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services and the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold Plus Award over the past decade

Anniversary events in 2025 include a blood drive with We Are Blood on January 8, 50 TAKE10 CPR classes for local organizations, a fall 5K run, and a Trunk or Treat event on October 18

The Texas House of Representatives adopted the resolution on April 17, 2025, by a vote of 133-7 to congratulate WCEMS and extend best wishes for continued success
