Recognizes her career of firsts, including first woman on the Austin ISD Board of Trustees (1972), first woman on the State Board of Insurance (1983), and service on the Texas Railroad Commission (1986)

Notes her continued civic engagement after elected office, including her organization Austinites For Action helping pass a 2012 health care access proposition in Travis County

Directs the Texas House of Representatives to adjourn in her memory and provide an official copy of the resolution to her family
