Texas House of Representatives commends George David Scott III of Richmond for his contributions to the state's cattle industry and natural resource conservation

Scott is a sixth-generation cattleman and descendant of the Stephen F. Austin Old Three Hundred colony who became a partner in Scott Livestock Commission Company in 1960 and currently operates G. D. Scott Cattle Company

Reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott in 2018 to the Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Council, which focuses on conserving working lands for water, wildlife, and agricultural production

Served as president of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, director of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, and board chair of the Brazos River Authority

Inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2024 and holds life memberships with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Fort Bend County Fair Association, and Brazoria County Cattlemen's Association
