Texas House of Representatives congratulates the Stephen F. Austin State University Sylvans timbersports team for winning the 2025 Southern Forestry Conclave held March 20-22 in Huntsville, Alabama

The Sylvans earned 263.5 points to win by 18 points over the runner-up, capturing their 19th conclave championship and extending their win streak to seven consecutive titles (tying the all-time record)

Holly Parkin and Maddie Sweeten set a record in women's crosscut with a time of 4.69 seconds, the fastest since the event began in 1979

The team won eight first-place finishes across events including knife throw, archery, men's log chop, bowsaw, chain throw, pole climb, and Jack & Jill crosscut

The team was coached by Dr. Jeremy Stovall, a professor of forestry at SFA; the resolution was adopted by non-record vote on May 23, 2025
