Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) is celebrating its 20th anniversary on September 23, 2025, with the annual HAAM Day fundraiser

Founded in 2005 by Robin Shivers, HAAM provides affordable health care access to low-income, uninsured, and underinsured musicians, DJs, and music teachers in Travis County, including doctor visits, prescriptions, dental work, psychiatric counseling, eye exams, and hearing screenings

The organization has served nearly 7,000 people and connected musicians to more than $191 million in health care services, with over 90% of members now obtaining health insurance through HAAM Open Enrollment

In 2023, HAAM opened a South Central Austin headquarters featuring hearing screening rooms, educational workshop spaces, a live performance stage, and a musician resource center

The Texas House of Representatives formally honors HAAM for two decades of supporting working artists in the "Live Music Capital of the World"
