Texas House of Representatives commemorates the 100th anniversary of Victoria College in 2025

Victoria Junior College was established in February 1925 by the Victoria Independent School District trustees, opening with 51 students at Patti Welder High School

The college moved to its current Red River Street location in 1949, with campus size doubling between 1958 and 1975; the 60-acre main campus now has 16 buildings

Victoria College serves over 7,000 students annually and operates multiple facilities including the Zelda L. Allen School of Nursing, Museum of the Coastal Bend, and Emerging Technology Complex

The college maintains tuition costs at one-third of average state universities, with 70% of graduates continuing to live and work in the service area
