Texas House of Representatives congratulates Texas EquuSearch on its 25th anniversary in 2025

Tim Miller founded Texas EquuSearch in August 2000 as a horse-mounted search and recovery team in Galveston County, dedicated to the memory of his daughter Laura Miller who was abducted and murdered in 1984

The nonprofit, headquartered in Dickinson, Texas, has assisted with approximately 2,800 missing person and murder victim cases across nearly all 50 states and multiple countries, returning more than 800 missing persons to their families

The organization utilizes advanced technologies including side-scan sonar, ground-penetrating radar, drones, boats, aircraft, all-terrain vehicles, and K-9 teams for search and recovery missions

Resolution adopted by the House on June 1, 2025, by non-record vote
