Congratulates Mendell D. Morgan Jr. on his retirement from the Live Oak City Council in May 2025 after more than a decade of service

Morgan was first elected in 2014 as the Place 1 representative, serving in roles involving local legislation, budget adoption, and city policy decisions

Morgan has been a Live Oak resident since 1975 and currently serves as director of development for El Progreso Memorial Library in Uvalde, following 33 years as assistant professor and librarian at University of the Incarnate Word where he is now dean emeritus

Named 2024 Librarian of the Year by the Texas Library Association and actively serves with the Kiwanis Club of the Greater Randolph Area, Humane Society of Live Oak, and St. Matthew's Episcopal Church

Resolution adopted by the Texas House on May 23, 2025 by non-record vote, with an official copy to be prepared for Morgan as an expression of high regard
