Mendoza previously worked for Representative James White from the 83rd through 87th Legislatures, advancing from intern to chief of staff and focusing on criminal justice and law enforcement reform legislation

Born in Ucareo, Michoacán, Mexico, Mendoza grew up in Lufkin, studied Spanish literature at UT Austin (graduating 2012), and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2014

Named Best Legislative Director by Capitol Crowd in 2015; also worked on campaigns for Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Konni Burton, and Governor Greg Abbott
