Authorizes county commissioners courts to order the destruction of "sensitive media devices" that are salvage or surplus property, overriding standard disposal requirements under Section 263.152 of the Local Government Code

Defines "sensitive media device" as a data storage device the county has used to store data whose maintenance or disclosure is regulated by state or federal law

Destruction is permitted when the commissioners court determines it is necessary to prevent inadvertent disclosure of regulated information during device disposal

Adds new Section 263.1521 to Subchapter D, Chapter 263 of the Local Government Code

Takes effect September 1, 2025; passed Senate 31-0 on April 16, 2025, and House 87-35 on May 16, 2025
