Requires fire safety inspections at public schools, private schools, and open-enrollment charter schools to include examination of all automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on campus to verify they are fully functional, including checking that pads and batteries have not expired and status indicator lights show readiness

Mandates that school campus representatives present each AED for inspection during fire safety inspections

Requires inspectors to provide written reports of inspection findings to the school principal and district superintendent (for public schools) or school director (for private schools), including documentation of delivery method, time, and date

Requires inspection reports to be filed at the school campus and organized by inspection year

Mandates the Texas Commission on Fire Protection to include training on conducting school fire safety inspections (including AED checks) in minimum curriculum requirements for fire protection personnel training programs

Takes effect September 1, 2025
