Amends Section 511.021(a) of the Government Code regarding investigations of prisoner deaths in county jails

Exempts deaths from natural causes from requiring an independent law enforcement investigation, provided a physician determines the cause during an autopsy or examination of the deceased prisoner

Maintains the requirement for the Texas Commission on Jail Standards to appoint an outside law enforcement agency (not the agency operating the jail) to investigate deaths that are not from natural causes
