Requires retail electric providers, municipally owned utilities, and electric cooperatives to provide customers with load shedding and critical care information at least quarterly instead of the previous "periodically" standard

Mandates that customer notices include information about the utility's procedures for implementing involuntary load shedding initiated by ERCOT

Requires notices to inform customers about eligibility criteria and application procedures for critical care residential customer, critical load industrial customer, or critical load designations

Notices must also include tips for reducing electricity use during times when involuntary load shedding events may occur

Effective date: September 1, 2025
