Removes the automatic requirement for courts to sequester juries upon motion by either party in felony cases after the court delivers its charge; instead grants courts discretion to order sequestration on their own motion

Requires courts to hold a hearing and find "good cause" before ordering jury sequestration when requested by either the prosecution or defense

Mandates that motions requesting jury sequestration be filed at least 10 days before jury selection begins, unless good cause is shown for late filing

Maintains contempt of court penalties for anyone who reveals to the jury which party requested sequestration

Applies only to criminal proceedings commencing on or after September 1, 2025
