Prohibits the Health and Human Services Commission, Department of Family and Protective Services, and contracted child-placing agencies from requiring agency foster homes to disclose specific types of weapons or firearms present in the home

Prohibits requiring foster homes to notify child-placing agencies of any changes in the types of weapons or firearms present in the home

Restricts use of any weapons information obtained about foster homes solely to determining whether weapons are present, not for any other purpose

Establishes civil penalty of up to $5,000 per violation for child-placing agencies that improperly use weapons information, enforceable by the attorney general

Classifies information about types of weapons in agency foster homes as confidential and exempt from public disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act, effective September 1, 2025
