Allows the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to reimburse current employees up to $5,000 in attorney's fees for obtaining protective or restraining orders related to their work protecting children, elderly persons, or persons with disabilities

Maintains existing law allowing DFPS to indemnify current or former employees up to $10,000 in attorney's fees if criminally prosecuted for job-related conduct and found not guilty, or if charges are dismissed without a guilty plea

Applies to employees involved in activities relating to the protection of children, elderly persons, or persons with disabilities

Requires DFPS to adopt rules implementing the new reimbursement provision as soon as practicable after the effective date

Takes effect September 1, 2025
