Requires guardians of wards who are 60 years or older, or younger wards diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or related disorders, to complete a one-hour training course within six months of appointment and annually thereafter

Training must cover common aspects of aging, warning signs of dementia and Alzheimer's disease, effective communication strategies, and methods for supporting diagnosed individuals in exercising their rights

The Judicial Branch Certification Commission must approve and make training courses available for free online via its website

Texas Supreme Court must adopt implementing rules by January 1, 2026, and the commission must have approved training courses available by July 1, 2026

Guardians appointed before July 1, 2026 must complete their initial dementia training by January 1, 2027; probate courts may waive training requirements under circumstances identified by Supreme Court rules
