Requires each school district to have at least one automated external defibrillator (AED) available at every campus, with the device readily accessible during University Interscholastic League athletic competitions

Mandates that AEDs be placed in clearly marked and accessible locations, with campus principals considering proximity to primary athletic activity areas when determining placement

Prohibits placing AEDs in locked cases when students or school employees are regularly present on campus

Sets compliance deadline of the first instructional day of the 2026-2027 school year for all public schools to meet the new AED availability requirements

Takes effect immediately upon two-thirds vote of both legislative houses, or September 1, 2025, without such a vote
