Prohibits local mental health authorities and local behavioral health authorities from refusing or discontinuing services to an individual solely because that person has been processed through a local jail

Requires the Commission on Jail Standards to mandate that local jails notify the relevant mental health or behavioral health authority before releasing an individual who previously received services from that authority

Establishes notification requirements to ensure individuals with mental health or behavioral health needs receive continuity of care upon release from jail

Effective date: September 1, 2025
