Changes court protection of applicant's mailing address and county of residence from discretionary ("may") to mandatory ("shall") when applicants request confidentiality during protective order proceedings

Requires courts to exclude from protective orders, upon request, the address, county of residence, and telephone number of protected persons, as well as workplace, school, and child-care facility information

Mandates that courts inform all eligible persons present at protective order hearings of their right to have personal information excluded and specifically ask whether they wish to exercise that right

Allows persons protected by an order to request confidentiality for any changed address or telephone number when notifying the court of updates, with the clerk maintaining confidential records

Applies to protective order applications pending or filed on or after September 1, 2025, and to notifications of address/telephone changes filed on or after that date
