Allows any peace officer to execute a search warrant for blood specimen collection in intoxication offense cases in any county adjacent to the county where the warrant was issued

Applies to intoxication offenses including DWI, DWI with child passenger, flying while intoxicated, boating while intoxicated, operating amusement rides while intoxicated, intoxication assault, and intoxication manslaughter

Removes the previous requirement that the executing officer must be specifically authorized to make arrests in the county of execution

Applies only to search warrants issued on or after September 1, 2025; warrants issued before that date remain governed by prior law

Passed the Senate 31-0 on May 1, 2025, and the House 139-1 on May 13, 2025
