Expands the definition of "gas" in the existing sales and use tax exemption statute (Section 151.317, Tax Code) to explicitly include hydrogen

Extends current tax exemptions that apply to gas and electricity to also cover hydrogen used in qualifying applications

Does not affect tax liability that accrued before the effective date; prior obligations remain enforceable under former law

Takes effect September 1, 2025
