School districts and open-enrollment charter schools must provide informational materials about centers for independent living to parents or guardians of students receiving special education services or covered under Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act

Health care providers who diagnose an individual with an intellectual or developmental disability must provide informational materials about centers for independent living to the patient and, if appropriate, their parent, guardian, or caregiver

Hospitals, birthing centers, physicians, and midwives must provide a resource guide on centers for independent living to parents when an infant is born with an intellectual or developmental disability

The Health and Human Services Commission must develop the informational materials in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency, including descriptions of available services and contact information for centers for independent living statewide

Materials must be developed by December 1, 2025, with compliance required by January 1, 2026; the act takes effect September 1, 2025
