Requires school districts to provide parents of children with autism or pervasive developmental disorders written information about appropriate educational strategies at least 7 days before each admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee meeting

Mandates ARD committees consider each peer-reviewed, research-based educational strategy identified by commissioner rule for inclusion in the child's individualized education program (IEP)

Requires written documentation explaining why any strategy was determined not appropriate or practicable if the committee declines to include it in the IEP

Obligates districts to provide translated materials (written or audiotaped) in Spanish for Spanish-speaking parents, and make good faith efforts to translate for parents who speak other languages

Applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
