Peace officers commissioned by the state fire marshal as fire and arson investigators must be compensated according to Schedule C of the position classification salary schedule in the General Appropriations Act

Adds state fire marshal peace officers to the definition of "state employee" for hazardous duty pay purposes, alongside officers from DPS, Texas Facilities Commission, TABC, TDCJ, attorney general, and insurance fraud unit

Extends injury-related leave benefits under Section 661.918 to peace officers commissioned by the state fire marshal, previously limited to officers from DPS, Parks and Wildlife, TABC, attorney general, insurance fraud unit, and comptroller

Directs the state auditor's classification officer to reclassify commissioned peace officers employed as investigators by the State Fire Marshal's Office as Schedule C positions

Takes effect September 1, 2025, with the position reclassification provision expiring September 1, 2027
