Expands tuition and laboratory fee exemptions for peace officers employed by Texas or its political subdivisions from only criminal justice/law enforcement courses to all courses in qualifying degree programs

Extends eligibility from undergraduate students only to all students (including graduate students) enrolled in law enforcement-related degree programs

Defines "law enforcement-related degree programs" broadly to include 14 fields: criminal justice, political science/public administration, emergency management, youth and community studies, law, Spanish/foreign languages, business administration/accounting, psychology, social work, nursing, chemistry, biology, forensic science, and computer science/data science/cybersecurity

Requires students to be making satisfactory academic progress and apply for the exemption at least one week before the institution's regular registration deadline

Takes effect for the fall 2025 semester, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote of both chambers, otherwise September 1, 2025
