School district employees would be entitled to a minimum of two paid wellness leave days per year, in addition to all other existing leave benefits

Wellness leave days cannot be accumulated from year to year and cannot be deducted from an employee's accumulated personal leave balance

School districts must adopt policies establishing procedures for processing and documenting wellness leave requests

Districts are prohibited from requiring employees to provide documentation when taking wellness leave days

The law applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year and takes effect immediately with a two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025, otherwise
