Allows a dependent of a servicemember to terminate a lease early and avoid liability for future rent when a servicemember or spouse has guaranteed the lease on behalf of the dependent

Termination is permitted if the servicemember receives orders for a permanent change of station or deployment with a military unit for 90 days or more after guaranteeing the lease

Expands existing lease termination protections that previously applied only to servicemembers who directly entered or executed leases, now covering leases guaranteed for dependents

Applies only to leases entered into or renewed on or after September 1, 2025; existing leases remain governed by prior law

Amends Section 92.017(b) of the Texas Property Code
