Removes methotrexate from the list of specifically named abortion-inducing drugs in Texas law, while retaining mifepristone (Mifeprex) and misoprostol (Cytotec) on the list

Eliminates the requirement for physicians to document gestational age and intrauterine location of the pregnancy to determine whether an ectopic pregnancy exists before providing an abortion-inducing drug

Maintains existing requirements that physicians must examine the patient in person, verify pregnancy exists, determine blood type, offer Rh immunoglobulin treatment for Rh negative patients, and ensure gestational age is 49 days or less

Applies only to offenses and administrative violations occurring on or after the effective date, with prior conduct governed by former law

Takes effect September 1, 2025
