Requires the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to collect and disaggregate student demographic data using 7 main racial/ethnic categories: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Middle Eastern or North African, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and White

Each main category includes specific subcategories (e.g., Asian includes Asian Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Pakistani, Vietnamese, and other; Hispanic includes Cuban, Dominican, Guatemalan, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Salvadoran, and other)

Applies to reporting requirements related to academic achievement, graduation rates, attendance rates, languages spoken at home, and access to educational resources

Allows respondents to select more than one category and more than one subcategory for race or ethnic origin

TEA must publish disaggregated data on its website in an easily accessible format while complying with FERPA and state student privacy laws, with implementation required by the 2027-2028 school year

Act takes effect September 1, 2025
