Requires political subdivisions employing firefighters to offer free occupational cancer screenings beginning in the firefighter's fifth year of employment, with follow-up screenings every three years thereafter

Mandates screenings test for colorectal cancer, prostate cancer (if applicable), lung cancer, and brain cancer

Requires all screening results to remain confidential

Defines "firefighter" as fire protection personnel under Section 419.021 of the Government Code

May be cited as the Wade Cannon Act; takes effect September 1, 2025
