Increases covered maternal depression screenings from one to up to four under both the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicaid

Screenings must be performed during a child's well-child visit or other covered office visit before the child's first birthday

Mothers are eligible for the screenings regardless of whether they are personally enrolled in the program, as long as their child is enrolled

State agencies may delay implementation if federal waiver or authorization is required

Effective date is September 1, 2025
