Requires all Texas public school districts to provide mandatory grief instruction to students in grades 8 through 12 as part of the health curriculum

Directs the State Board of Education to adopt essential knowledge and skills standards covering physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms of grief

Instruction must include coping mechanisms and techniques for processing grief and loss

Students must be informed about available resources including school support services, mental health crisis support, and individual and group therapy options

Takes effect beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
