Abolishes Confederate Heroes Day (January 19th), which honored Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and other Confederate figures, by removing it from the list of official Texas state holidays

Amends the Government Code to reduce the number of state holidays from eight to seven, renumbering the remaining holidays accordingly

Updates the Election Code definition of "state holiday" to reflect the removal of Confederate Heroes Day from the statutory list

Retains all other existing Texas state holidays including Texas Independence Day (March 2), San Jacinto Day (April 21), Emancipation Day in Texas (June 19), Lyndon Baines Johnson Day (August 27), the Friday after Thanksgiving, December 24, and December 26

Takes effect September 1, 2025
